Our tree

Despite my initial lack of desire to get a Christmas tree this year, DH convinced me we really should get one. We are a family, he said. And it really didn't take much convincing.

Here it is - we got a little one ( maybe about 4.5') and put it on a small table.

Our living room is on the smaller side, so I like that the tree doesn't take over the whole space. I am not very fond of our tree topper and have been on the lookout for the "perfect" one for 4 years now. I know it's out there.

Ok, here's second look at the tree using a photography app on my phone that I think is fun. I generally think my phone pictures are pretty bad, so the way this app makes it look like a retro Polaroid seems to make pictures look better. (it's the Shake It app).

"Shake It" like a Polaroid picture?? Haha

I wanted a tiny tree too, but DH forced me to get a huge one that is FAR too big for our house!

The size of that tree matters not at all...just the fact you bought one and put it up is enough :) I know what it feels like to not be motivated or have the "want" to feel the season and it saddens me to even remember what that felt like for me. I muttled through an EDD comingled with Christmas and that is very much like what you are going through sweet friend. I'm so sorry for the hurt in your heart and pray for you always.

Much Love

I'm having problems finding a perfect tree topper too. I've gone through 3 of them in the past 3 years. One year I just put a purple santa hat on top of the tree. This year I'm not is the holiday spirit either. I got our fake tree up and that's pretty much it.

Hillary, I love your tree! It is perfect! I know what you mean about tree toppers. Here's an idea for you....I linked about 5 "ball" ornaments together with the hooks and put that on the top part of the tree. Then I got about 5 picks (mine have gold berries on them) from Hobby Lobby and stuck those in around the balls. I like how the picks jet out from the top. I liked it so much that I went back and got picks that have red glittery leaves on them and stuck those all over the tree. It gives it a different look. Plus, the picks are only about a dollar each at Hobby Lobby. Hugs to you!!

So cute! We put up an artificial tree every year since we go out of town for the Christmas break. I miss the Christmas tree smell, though! I need to find some candles! :)

So cute. Hammer made me get a tree too. And since I could not help lift it I told him to get a small one...we got the biggest tree ever. He could barely lift it and it just fit in our tree stand. Men.

H- I am so glad you put up a tree. You will be too, because something about the tree makes you feel christmasy. I so understand the heartache. You and I are in the exact same place, no baby for another christmas.....and it is so hard. But we have to keep believeing!!!

I love you and am praying for you nonstop!
